What is Don’t Call Me Aunty?
Don’t Call Me Aunty is a modern matchmaking platform reimagining how South Asians find love. Instead of endless swipes or outdated biodatas, we combine AI-powered matching with friend-driven insights to create intentional, meaningful introductions.
How is it different from dating apps?
Don’t Call Me Aunty focuses on personality, values, and real compatibility. Friends add short anecdotes that reveal who you are beyond a photo, and our AI turns those insights into a few thoughtful introductions. We also reflect the preferences that matter in the desi dating world — diet (e.g., vegetarian/vegan), faith, language, family expectations, geography, lifestyle goals, and more, so matches feel meaningful, not generic.
How does it work?
Step 1: Create your profile Once you’re invited from the waitlist, you’ll create a profile by completing a detailed matchmaking questionnaire and uploading photos. Honesty matters - your answers directly shape the quality of your matches. After submission, you’ll receive a confirmation email and access to your personal dashboard, where you can edit your profile at any time. Step 2: Invite friends to add insights As part of our process, you’ll invite friends to share anonymized anecdotes about you. These insights help us understand who you are beyond a profile and are used by our AI to improve match quality. Friend responses are never shown directly or attributed. Step 3: Receive curated introductions You’ll receive a limited number of curated introductions each month with some anonymized information. Every match is verified, and built on shared values, not just shared interests. You can accept or decline matches, and if you decline, we’ll ask why so our AI learns your preferences over time. Step 4: Connect intentionally If both people confirm interest, you’ll be connected directly. We’ll check in along the way, and if you decide not to continue at any stage, you’ll be asked to share specific reasons to help improve future matches.
Why the name “Don’t Call Me Aunty”?
Because we’re reclaiming matchmaking from the old ways, no nosy aunties, no biodata exchanges. Just authentic, respectful, and modern introductions that put you in control.
When will Don't Call Me Aunty launch?
We’re currently in private beta with a small group. The first version will roll out soon to early waitlist sign-ups, with ongoing improvements based on feedback.
Is this a paid service?
Our initial rollout will be free as we launch and learn alongside our early users. We’ve received an overwhelming amount of interest and continue to see strong demand, which means scaling responsibly will require investing in technology and infrastructure. As a result, paid features may be introduced in the future.
Will my data and stories be private?
Absolutely. Privacy is core to our design. Only verified matches can see limited parts of your profile, and friend insights are anonymized and never shared directly.
Can I refer friends?
Yes! Great matches often start within great communities. Once you join, you’ll get a referral link. Referring friends can move you up the waitlist.
I’m not ready to date yet, should I still sign up?
Of course. DCMA is about intentional connection, not pressure. Joining early means you’ll be part of shaping how modern South Asian matchmaking evolves.
